Mrs. W. - Colchester - 2009 (1)

What a thoroughly relaxing holiday! The very homely house provided us with everything we needed and the wonderful grounds and pool were enjoyed by us all.We loved the choice of seating areas, especially the evening sun at the back of the house with a glass or two of wine. We had fantastic weather and became so lazy that we really did not see all that we should have. Will have to visit again!

Mr. & Mrs. C. - Loughton - 2009 (1)

We've all had a really good holiday and our only regret it wasn't two weeks.

We loved the pool, orchard, vine covered eating area and general location. The living room and general spaciousness was great inside and out.

Mrs. P. – Liskeard – 2009 (1)

We all had a wonderful time.

In particular we enjoyed:

  • The additional guests (the lizards)
  • The swimming pool was a welcome relief to the very hot weather.
  • Canoeing in Roquebrun- fantastic fun but remember to wear your swim suits!
  • Valras Plage- great beach
  • Carcassonne- well worth a visit
  • St Chinian/St Pons de Thomieres-beautiful villages

Your accommodation was wonderful everything that we needed was supplied, we even started to call it our home.

Thanks again.

Mr. & Mrs. B. – Colchester – 2008 (1)

We had a fantastic family holiday here, there was something for all of us to enjoy. The children had great fun on the inflatables in the pool giving us time to relax in the sun with a book!

The house is spacious with lovely grounds and the living area is cosy with a delightful view of the mountains from the patio doors. We enjoyed many a BBQ on the patio under the grapevines and English TV in the evenings.

We visited nearby towns and villages and ventured further to the surrounding countryside. The scenery was stunning wherever we went. Each place was so different and provided such variety every day – from a shady walk along the Canal du Midi at Capestang to the rugged scenery of Gorge d’Heric with enormous mountains either side. We also enjoyed Narbonne, a lovely Roman city, Lac Raviege where we hired a pedalo, Roquebrun, a beautiful village set in the hills and a trip to the Med.

There were so many places to visit and there’s so much we still want to do.

We thoroughly recommend it and look forward to visiting again.

Mr. & Mrs. H. – Edenbridge – 2008 (1)

Thoroughly enjoying our stay at Le Plo de Cathalo apart from the time going too quickly – (text message received during guests stay 2008).

We had a really lovely time again - with almost perfect weather for the whole 2 weeks (a couple of terriffic storms overnight).  The house was great - and thanks for the microwave! I really don't want to spend MY holidays in the kitchen, if I can help it!  The pool was super and the pool chap mended it quickly on a day when we were out (at the beach).  James and I had loads of lovely rides at Assignan and were made really welcome by the owners, Didier and Florence - really treated as part of their family! (2009)

Mr. F. – Huddersfield – 2008 (1)

Thanks again for a really nice holiday. Such a nice place you have.
"A great place to explore, or sit back and do nothing but enjoy the beautiful pool area, outdoor meals and games in the huge garden. We really enjoyed our holiday and will definitely be back in the future".

Miss C. – E – Nottingham 2008 (1) 2005 (1) 2004 (1)

"Thanks for a fantastic holiday, shame we didn't have time to see more. Loved the kayaking, the pedalos, the beaches and the countryside. Lake .Raviege is definitely worth a visit - even up those windy roads! Looking forward to coming back and visiting more vineyards. Thanks again.

Mr. & Mrs M. – St Ives – 2008 (1)

We would like to express a big thank you for letting us let your house, it was everything we expected plus. We had a wonderful 2 weeks. The location and the area was great, with stunning views. Once again thank you and will be contacting you again soon as we have already thought that we would like to go back to your property as we only touched the surface of what is around that area.

We enjoyed staying in your property that much we would love to stay again. We have just checked online and seen that the property is available from the 18th July 2009,  and would be grateful if you could give us a price for 2 weeks, and a further price for 3 weeks please.

Mr. & Mrs. B. – Lawford – 2008 (1)

Just a line to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Plo de Cathalo. The house is an excellent base for visiting the beach and little villages in the hills. Giving the advantage of a nice rural setting but within easy reach of the village markets in St Pons and St Chinian; which both offer good quality produce for sale, and a taste of 'french living'.
Being in a 'Park National' area there is plenty of outdoor space to explore - offering a holiday to suit all tastes, from those interested in photography to flora and fauna, or just sipping a coffee in the village square.
We found the house well equipped with full kitchen facilities; cosy living area and good dining space. In addition, good sized bedrooms.
The owners have paid attention to detail to cater for all needs from computer games to amuse the kids, to providing a family size gas bar-b-que to save guests the hassle of having to go out and purchase sacks of charcoal. We enjoyed time in the swimming pool flloating on the air beds, also provided by the owners. We just want to go back and do it all again!Best wishes.

Le Plo de Cathalo is in a gorgeous setting where there is plenty of wildlife and many varied walks literally on the doorstep. The plums from the orchard were very tasty and it was a shame we were too late for the cherries. We enjoyed our trip on the local bus into St Chinian and the walk along the river. The bus took less than 20 minutes and was immaculate, nearly empty and punctual.
We really enjoyed our relaxing break and hope to return next year.

Mr. J. – Bridgend – 2007 (1) 2006 (1) 2005 (2) 2004 (1)

Our stay at Le Plo de Cathalo, on the edge of the Languedoc National Park, was gloriously relaxed and secluded. The house is perfectly located for exploring this stunning and varied part of France.
The house is well equipped and comfortable and offers a good location for a convivial holiday with friends or family....thoroughly recommended!

Mr. & Mrs. C. – Bracknell – 2007 (1)

We had a great time. We found Cathalo to be in a good situation for sight seeing and I really loved the pretty villages on Canal de Midi and the timelessness of walking along the canal. Thanks again.
All best wishes.

Mr. & Mrs. M. – Lowfell Tyne & Wear – 2007 (1)

Just a note to say that we had a wonderful holiday, we had a great trip down and found the property easily following your clear directions. This must be the first time we have actually had a property that is exactly as advertised it was clean as a new pin. It was great to find instructions for washing machine etc. The extra fridge in the garage came in very useful.
We wanted for nothing, ate in some nights on the patio under the stars met a few of the local wild life, a lizard or two which we decided looked too cute to eat and a long green snake that I stumbled over one day near the front window it slithered away quickly and we never saw it again. The only problem I now have is how to shed the 5LBs that I put on eating all those lovely bread and cakes.
The surrounding towns were amazing and we explored most mornings, the weather was fantastic and the pool was wonderful just what you need for a chill out week, wished we had booked for two weeks now, as when we moved further up the country for the final week of our holiday the weather was very poor. I will certainly recommend your property to friends for the future. Kind regards.

Mrs. T. – Bridgend – 2007 (1)2006 (1)

This comfortable, spacious four bed roomed family home is situated in the heart of the picturesque Languedoc area of France just South of the " Parc-Naturel Regional du Haut Languedoc ". Situated in several acres of land, the views of the local countryside are quite breathtaking. It’s only a two hour drive from Toulouse Airport and fairly central to the towns of Carcasonne, Narbonne and Beziers. It is a private home, it boasts its own swimming pool. (Which is regularly maintained) an orchard, and has ample parking. The facilities in the house are of the highest standard, and all the rooms are very comfortable. It is a good base from which the surrounding areas can be explored with some quaint villages nearby such as St.Pons-de-Thomieres, Roquebrun, and St.Chinian.
This holiday home is ideal for a family who wish to relax and enjoy this unique insight into the “French way of life”, partake in visiting the local markets, sample the local cuisine and of course the wine !!
Thoroughly recommended!!

Mr. H. – Colchester - 2006 (1)

Just wanted to drop you a line to say: - Thank you for a lovely break that we had at Le plo de Cathelo. This is a wonderful base to explore the national park and the beautiful towns and villages and vineyards of the Languedoc Rousillon region. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had great fun sampling the delights of the region's restaurants. When we needed a change form the countryside we took off for the Med, and also enjoyed exploring the ancient towns of Orlagues and Pezenas. We found the house comfortable and well equipped with everything that we needed for a totally relaxing break. The gardens of the house are big enough for everyone to wander off and have a bit of space and, even in the first week of June; it was warm enough to breakfast and dine on the patio and take an evening dip in the pool. We look forward to visiting again in the future.
Once again, Many thanks
.

Mrs. M. – Colchester – 2006 (1) 2004 (1)

Le Plo de Cathalo is a charming, picturesque escape from the pressures of hectic life. The house is homely and welcoming with all the amenities you would expect and require for a family holiday. We enjoyed the pool, gardens and the glorious weather. There is plenty to occupy your days should you be able to move from the pool side.... we particularly enjoyed canoeing and the Cathedral at Beziers, as well as the Cite at Carcasonne. We had a relaxing yet fun family break.

Mr. & Mrs. G. – Aylesham – 2006 (1) 2005 (1)

Once again we had a great holiday – we love the area and feel so at home in your house. Happily, we're still enjoying our St.Chinian wine!! Unfortunately next year we are not able to holiday in France as we have a family wedding at that time. But maybe 2008??? Wishing you well.

Mr. & Mrs. M – Leeds – 2005 (1)

A delightful and comfortable spot in a lovely setting and convenient for all that is nice about the Mediterranean South of France, without being submerged in the hustle and bustle of the coast which is only 45minutes away. What's more its only 4 or 5 miles to the vineyards of Languedoc Rousillon and lots of nice restaurants not far away. Both French & English neighbours were very friendly. We enjoyed our stay a great deal.

Mr. & Mrs S. – Glasgow – 2005 (1)

Please feel free to use any of the following comments for your website."A wonderful, peaceful part of France to visit. Le Plo de Cathalo is superb, very well equipped for family life, very comfortable and spacious. The grounds are magnificent, great for exploring, with a beautiful orchard where we played many badminton matches. However swimming was the favourite pastime this holiday. The swimming pool was first class, and because the pool is all one depth it was great for volley ball. The children thoroughly enjoyed this and any other water sport they could think of or invent. The shops are within easy driving distance and are well stocked for feeding hungry families too. We had a fantastic three week holiday and were able to dine 'al fresco' morning noon and night - very enjoyable and very relaxing"
